MV 4th Amendment Project
Find out more about how we’re working with businesses to know their 4th Amendment rights of unreasonable search and seizure and privacy.
About the Project
A group of concerned island citizens are inviting island businesses to become MV 4th Amendment Businesses. 4th Amendment campaigns support businesses in providing a safe place to work and help the community be a safe place to raise a family. Both are jeopardized by continued threats of ICE, Border Patrol and other federal agencies’ detentions and forced deportations, unconstitutional search and seizure, and federal overreach and/or violation of constitutional rights. These threats affect businesses and communities and many communities across the country are implementing 4th Amendment strategies to assert their rights and protect themselves.
4th Amendment of the United States Constitution
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
